Our Meeting

Jackson works from my uncle Scot in Pasco, WA repairing and installing heating and air conditioning units. Haws heating and cooling company.  My uncle Scot told my parents about him and introduced them.  My parents liked him so invited him to come fix the freezer in our garage.  That is when we first met maybe over Christmas or Thanksgiving or whatever...I can't remember.  Jackson probably knows the date and time...lol.  I didn't think much of it and I wasn't even going to date a guy my parents set me up with and I surly wasn't going to date someone from the Tri-cities....lol.  Anyway, I travel to Tri-cities every month to work at my business there and for some reason, we always had problems with our heating, freezer...etc...LOL.  One day my mom called me while I was on a break from work (shopping at Macys) and said come home right now.  I was like "why...what's wrong?"  She just said she needed me home.  So I made my purchase and returned home.  As I drove up to the driveway, and I saw Jackson, once again, I knew why my mom asked me to come home...I was like crap...I hate this kind of thing..it is always so awkward!  So I just said hi and I walked in the house and gave my mom a look of death. She said he wants to ask me out.  So both my dad and Jackson came in from their FAKE fixing the heating unit and Jackson and I met him officially.  He asked me to dinner and told him to choose the place... and he took me to an all you can eat place...lol...I can't believe that was not just a huge turn off to me at the time..but I didn't care.  Anyway, we talk and I thought he was very interesting to talk to, very insightful, not boring, asked me good questions, had good eye contact...in other words was not on the autism spectrum of any kind...lol ( I work with kids with autism...love them.. by the way).  Anyway, I could see that he had character and insight....and was real and humble.  But still, my parents set me up with him so for sure...I was not going to comply.
So for the next couple of visits to Washington he continued to asked me out on dates and text, facebook, and call in between visits. I let him know I was dating other guys in San Diego and he said he was trying online dating.  We both complained of our experiences.  Anyway, it wasn't until our date in May when he gave me a good night kiss, that I was suddenly extremely interested.  It was like I could not stop thinking about him.  I let him know that I didn't have a lot of time to find out if he was the one for me because I will be pushing 40 in a couple of years...so I don't want to waste any time in exclusive or long relationships, break-up then spend a year getting over it.  I told him he had to come to San Diego to visit me and see me in that setting.  So he came.   I think he was intending to seal the deal before he left because on Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend, we were walking a long the beach in San Clemente, he said "are you gonna say no if I ask you to marry me."  I had to put him out his misery so I said I wouldn't. ...which was saying yes basically.  He told me he wanted to go look at rings the next day so he can mark his territory before he left.....so that's what we did.  So very simple short sweet story...but we have a great time together and he is very good for me. We are excited to start our life together.  He will be moving to San Diego with me after the wedding on August 13th.  He will start school in medial billing and medical office management so he can help me with Child Enrichment Center because we are now in 3 states.  He will travel with me as much as he can and work at our office location in San Marcos.
I will make him write his side of the story next week when I am up in Washington next week.
